You are viewing a privately owned 1966 Pontiac Bonneville Sport Coupe Hardtop with only 66,424 miles!
You will be purchasing this vehicle directly from them.
The current owner bought the vehicle from the family of the first owner seven (7) plus years ago. He knew of the vehicle long before that time because he was best friends with the original owner's son. It is still pretty much all original with the only exception being one repaint due to the original paint fading and cracking. It is in excellent condition, both mechanically and physically. This is "Turn Key" car that needs nothing. Get in and start enjoying the summer. In these past seven years, the current owner has won several shows and events with this vehicle.

Body & Paint:Paint color: "Martinique Bronze" (Paint Code "T") The car was repainted by the original owner. It was done in the mid to late 90's. It is still in very good condition. It has a nice shine with no orange peel or other problems. It does have a few of the typical stone chips. Some have been touched up, some still need to be touched up. The biggest chip is only about 1/4" in size. It is on the right rear corner by the tail light. (See close up photo #34) The body is solid and rust free. NO body filler or patch panels were used when it was repaint. Again, it was only repainted because of the original paint was fading. The body is very straight with no door dings or other dents. It does have the factory rear fender skirts installed. Pontiac Model # "26237".
Chrome & Trim:All of the chrome and trim items are still original. Nothing has been re-chromed. The chrome bumpers are near perfect without pitting or fading. There is a small area on the lower rear bumper which is stained due to the exhaust. (see photo #36) Very minor, hard to see. The bottom pot metal rocker panels are in good shape with only a few minor pits. This pot metal trim is always known to have pits and oxidation problems. The chrome bezels around the headlights have a few pit marks. These bezels are very easy to purchase and swap out.
Interior:The whole interior is still original and in great condition. Trim code "543" (Fawn cloth/vinyl) There are no rips, holes, stains, or cracks in the seats. The Fawn colored vinyl door panels are also near perfect condition. The chrome plastic arm rest supports show some wear. These also can be easily ordered and swapped out with a new set. The factory headliner is like new without any rips, stains, or marks. The dash looks great. The wood accent trim is in excellent shape with no wear or scratches. The chrome bezels and knobs also look almost like new. The original Pontiac AM radio works but is currently disconnected. There is a Pioneer hide away AM/FM stereo with CD player mounted in the glove box with four speakers hidden away. (Stock looking.) The factory clock is the only item not currently working. The lights, gauges, horns, wipers, and speedo/odometer are all working perfectly. The inside chrome items around the dash, steering wheel, and door handles are original and in good condition. The original carpet looks very good with no rips or tears. It has a few minor stains which may be able to be removed. It has aftermarket floor mats with have the Pontiac Chief emblems embroidered in them. The factory seat belts are still installed and are in working order.
Glass:All of the glass is original with the correct logo and date codes. The windshield is in good condition with only a few stone chips. No wiper marks. The all four side windows roll down and up easy without any problems. They are all in good condition. Some of the rubber weather stripping is getting hard and has some small cracks.
Wheels & Tires:The 14" rims and hub caps are original and in good condition. Mounted on these rims are P215/75/14 "Radial" tires with a "Goldline" side wall. These "Radial" tires were bought new from Diamondback Classics and are in great shape with very little miles on them. The goldline side wall is period correct and looks great against the bronze paint color.
Trunk Compartment:Remember, this is a rust free low mileage vehicle that still retains all of its original body panels, floor pans, and trunk pans. Even the original trunk spatter paint looks great. There is no trunk mat, but it does have a vinyl spare tire cover. A factory jack, jack stand, jacking tools and spare tire are all in their proper place. The spare tire is mounted on a 15" wheel. The trunk weather stripping is cracked and has some paint on it from the repaint job. Can be replaced.
Engine Compartment:The engine compartment is clean but not detailed. Very original looking. The vehicle retains the original "Matching Number" 389 stock engine. The Carter AFB four barrel carburetor, air cleaner, and radiator are also still original. No problems under the hood. See the "Mechanical" section for more details.
Chassis - Frame & Undercarriage:The undercarriage is clean but not detailed. It is all original with no repairs to the floor pans or frame. All areas are solid. There is no under coating or rust proofing hiding past repairs or weak areas. The frame is solid with only some surface and scale rust.
Nine times out of ten, people selling a car would not talk about or take any photos of the underside. The undercarriage tells you a lot about the car, that is why we took a few pictures of the bottom.
The engine, automatic transmission, and rear end are all original to this 66,000 mile vehicle. "YE" 389 cu. in. 325 hp engine. Turbo "T400" automatic transmission. Unsure of the rear end ratio.(Someone maybe able to decode the "POP" Protect-O-Plate to find this information.) All drive train items are in good condition. The engine does not smoke, tick, or leak. New belts and hoses a few years ago. New points, condenser, spark plugs and wires were installed this year. A new timing chain and water pump was also installed earlier this spring. It received a new battery last year. The T400 automatic transmission shifts out great with no problems. The rear pinion seal, cover gasket and "U" joints were all replaced.
The power brake booster was replaced in '06. Stainless steel brake lines were done in 2000. The front and rear wheel cylinders, front flex hoses and all of the brakes shoes were replaced in 2010. No leaks, or issues with the brake system. Power drum brakes on all four the wheels.
Factory power steering. No problems with the suspension system. The inside and outside tie rods and sleeves were replaced in 2009 along with the control arm bushings. The lower and upper ball joints, stabilizer bar bushings, and stabilizer pins were replaced. The front and rear shocks were replaced a few years ago. The vehicle drives and rides like it is on a cloud.
Stock single exhaust coming from the stock exhaust manifolds. No problems, no leaks, or weak areas in the exhaust system.
Documents/Manuals:The vehicle comes with its original 1966 Pontiac Owner's Manual, along with the original Protection Plan Manual that still has the "Protect-O-Plate" attached to the rear cover. (See photo #103 and #104). The original "Bill of Sale" is framed and will go along with the vehicle. The current owner also has all the receipts for the work he had done on the vehicle since he has owned it.
